Books

I didn't realize how complicated writing this blog would be because I've come to realize that out of the millions of books that I have read, the majority of those books are not influential whatsoever. However, the three books I've read that have made an impact on me were:

  1.  Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom

A good friend of mine recommended this book to me one day and told me I would appreciate the wisdom and depth the characters have to offer. Sure enough, I did. This book made me feel sad, happy, regretful but positive all at the same time about life and life's lessons. So many times we go through life forgetting the most important things that may or may not be right in front of us. Life is short and time is precious, so at the end of this book it made me realize that certain grudges or lost connections can be easily fixed. Definitely an eye opener!

  1. 2. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

"Life is about the journey not the destination." Pretty much this books motto and I truly believe in that saying. The Alchemist is about a shepherd who leaves his whole life behind to follow his dream to find treasure in Egypt. Except on his journey he realizes that the treasure is what he learns on the journey instead of the treasure he eventually finds. This book was amazing to me that no matter what set backs you may face along your journey you have to keep going and you will eventually succeed.

3. The Da Vinci Code by Robert Langdon

This book was the most exciting novel that brought up debatable subjects regarding religion. The Da Vinci code offered mystery, action, and hit close to home regarding my catholic upbringing. Who was Jesus married too? and what role did Mary Magdalene really play in the bible? Also talks about the holy grail. Definitely a debatable subject and great book to read!
